These photos were taken at Newfound Gap, NC, on March 18-20, 2004.  Karen took a couple of days off to visit with her friends Leslee and Jimmy Barna.  Thanks to the Barna’s for these photos.

It’s a great feeling to get that 40+ pound
pack off your back.

After 3 weeks on the trail, it’s great to
see familiar faces and take some time off.

Jimmy helped Karen lighten her pack
by 9 pounds. (Those dancing shoes and
extra scarves had to go.)
